'Organised chaos' is the phrase Jurgen Klopp once loved using to describe his style of play.

This match more resembled just chaos, definitely lacking in organisation. Liverpool attacked like a team that could beat anyone but defended like a pub side that had never played together.

It was certainly chaos at the start as Bournemouth had one goal disallowed and another awarded - both the product of Liverpool carelessly losing possession - and then chaos towards the end as Klopp's men carved through the Cherries with a wave of free-flowing attacks that reminded one of their 9-0 win in this fixture last season.

Organisation was not seen until Alexis Mac Allister's 58th-minute sending off for a mistimed but not reckless challenge on Ryan Christie, a moment that seemed to galvanise Liverpool, as they created a multitude of chances thereafter.

By that point they were ahead after Luis Diaz and Mo Salah, via a debatable penalty decision, had helped Liverpool overturn Antoine Semenyo's early goal.

And minutes after the red card, Diogo Jota gave the Reds a two-goal lead. It could have ended up being more.

So although this was a compelling watch for the neutrals, Klopp might have left with more questions than answers about his Jekyll and Hyde team.

His opposite number Andoni Iraola, meanwhile, would have returned to the south coast pondering what could have been. 

The Spaniard's Rayo Vallecano team beat Real Madrid and Barcelona last season so are clearly not afraid to attack the big boys and that was the case here.

Bournemouth started with a fearless energy and repeatedly exploited gaping holes in Liverpool's defence.

And their intense pressing game caused all sorts of problems for Klopp's men. They had the ball in the net with barely a minute on the clock after Alisson and Trent Alexander-Arnold combined for an almighty mix-up in their own penalty area.
